And so it begins.....

So...we arrived at Grammy's moments before the first ghouls and gobblins came scavaging for goodies. Craig and Chris left with Dilly and Evan to go round up some treats of their own. I stayed behind with Grammy and the two babies. (Owen and Gus.) Grammy tells me that Dilly puked this afternoon as soon as she got him home from preschool. He didn't feel bad- he just vomited. At this point, I figure we are already exposed if he has something-we may as well stick around....

So we pass out candy and glow in the dark bracelets and a wonderful time was had by all. No dramatics/no more vomiting! Whoo hoo!!!! So far-so good!

After trick or treating, Craig and I headed back to the 859 to get the babes to bed and me off to work. I arrived at work 15 minutes early and had a WONDERFUL shift. The baby is so good!!!! He slept all night and his alarms never went off! Yippee!!!!!

Now I am waiting to hear from Aimee to see if the baby turned.

The calm before the storm....

Okay, so I have decided to keep the masses informed of all the happenings of the Rice clan. I doubt this will be of interest to anyone sans family-but we shall see!

Today marks the beginning of what I anticipate to be a very tumultous series of days.
1)Today is Halloween and we will be taking the boys up to Grammy's in Norwood to trick or treat. That will end at 8:30 pm and at 11 pm

2)I start a new job. I am EXTREMELY excited to work with the little guy I am entrusted to, but it will probably be much harder than my previous patient as this baby is on a ventilator.

3)Thursday morning, Aimee (my sister) goes in to have her baby-who is yet to be named-turned from the breech position. If they can turn her, they will go ahead and induce. If not, they will send her home to be scheduled for a c-section.

4)Thursday evening, my mom and my niece Kendall are spending the night at my house and mom will watch my kids so I can work. (all night and then....)

5)Friday DAY, I will have Kendall all day. At 10 I will take Evan to preschool, and then come home and lose my mind. I will then try to feed Gus and get him and Kendall to lay down and take a nap with me. I pick Evan back up at 2 pm. I then work AGAIN Friday night. The boys will be at Grammy's.

6)SATURDAY I AM FREE!!!!!

My life is such that I don't think any of this will happen as planned and expect it to be much MUCH worse than expected.

Things I love...

I love being Craig's wife. My favorite way to wake up is by getting snotty eskimo kisses from my son, Evan. I failed at my attempts to be a vegetarian...but still think I am a good person. I love to laugh, even though sometimes I snort and other times I sound like a dying hyena. I love when the electricity goes out. Craig and I get out our camping lantern and play board games in the dim light...it's actually quite romantic. He even lets me play clue because I LOVE IT....even though he absolutely abhors it. That's love. I love that my son told me yesterday that I was a "big smart mommy." I like the color yellow best, but look terrible in it (although I wore a yellow pullover jacket nonstop for 4 years until it literally fell apart.) I can honestly say I don't hate anyone. I have a freakish ability to memorize movie quotations, and can retell a tv episode so well that you need not even watch the darn thing. I love surprises. (Every so often, when my husband is leaving for work, he leans in for a hug and kiss and instead pulls me in tight and slow dances with me in the kitchen. I love that.) I love that I never knew I could love another child like I love my first born, but the second I met Gus my heart miraculously doubled.I like scary movies, but at the theater end up so scared that I either sit with the concession stand workers out front or spend half the movie staring at my husband waiting for him to tell me it's okay to look. (When I watch them at home- I've found that the key to watching scary movies alone is to mute the tv. You may miss something kinda important, but you won't be cleaning up pee off the sofa either...)I love when my son tells me he wants to tell me a secret and he cups his hand behind my neck, and whispers ssshupsupsssshpp in my ear. I am a good listener-but anyone who knows me well will say I'm a better talker.....
